Facility Agreement Signing Marks Breakthrough for Brunei’s First Solar Power Plant

The Facility Agreement between Baiduri Bank and Seri Suria Power (B) Sdn Bhd was officially signed at the Baiduri Community Space, witnessed by Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office, Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Muhamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, senior government officials, Baiduri’s management, and project stakeholders.

The agreement establishes Baiduri Bank as the sole financier of Brunei’s first large-scale solar photovoltaic power plant, a landmark initiative developed by Seri Suria Power (B) Sdn Bhd—a joint venture between Serikandi Oilfield Services, Khazanah Satu, and Atlantic Blue. For Serikandi, this moment represents not only a significant step in the nation’s renewable energy journey, but also the strengthening of partnerships that unite government, industry, and finance in driving Brunei’s climate ambitions.
